About the event
During this masterclass, an expert will speak and the PEX (Platform for Empathic Experiences) project initiated by Peter van Waart at CMI will be explained. Expert Jeffrey Lemmers (Educator at DUTCH Consortium) will talk about DUTCH's approach to training technical and non-technical skills. The possible role of artificial intelligence and immersive technology in training future healthcare professionals will be reflected upon. The PEX project will also be presented, a new collaboration between CMI, IVG and ISO. In this virtual environment, students learn to deal with patients who experience depression or patients with autism. Interns Onno Prins (CMGT, HR) and Sam Theesing (Electrical Engineering, HHS) have started developing a first prototype. This consists of a virtual 3D environment in combination with AI, which simulates the patient's behavior.
